Restoration of a Citröen 2CV, 1980 original from the factory of Vigo (Spain).
Nearly complete restoration process of this Citröen 2CV; when the car arrived at Garage 56 it was running by itself, but it needed to improve 3 main points: bodywork, mechanics and interiors. The process has been carried out respecting to the maximum the originality of all its parts and specifications, restoring the maximum number of original parts and replacing with original new ones when necessary.
Bodywork. Part of the floor on the codriver’s side has been replaced to remove an oxidized spot. The engine compartment has been restored and repainted. It has been verified that no other part of the body has rust and has been protected with an antigravel treatment to protect it and prolong its life.
Mechanics. The engine has been completely rebuilt, checking all its components to guarantee the absence of mechanical defects. The gearbox has also been entirely refreshed. The suspension system in completely new and all the moving parts have been replaced by new spare parts. The braking system has been completely revised to verify its perfect use.
Interiors. the soft top is new, using a high quality material to guarantee the its impermeability and avoid the change of consistency of the material with the incidence of the rays of the Sun in summer. All interior upholstery has been replaced with a new one, using a navy-blue fabric.
Due to the extensive restoration performed on this 2CV, all vehicle components work perfectly and will not require repair or overhaul work over a long period of time.
